Daughter of soap star Erika Slezak was 42

Amanda Davies, who famously played the younger version of real-life mother Erika Slezak's character on ABC soap One Life to Live, has died at age 42.

"It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Erika's daughter Amanda Elizabeth Davies who died very suddenly," said a statement posted to Slezak's website, which is run by a longtime friend. "The family is heartbroken and would appreciate privacy at this time." A rep for Slezak also independently confirmed the news to EW, but no other information was given.

Davies, who was born in 1981 to Slezak and actor Brian Davies, was credited as "Teenage Viki" in flashbacks on One Life to Live in 2002. She also starred in the short The Gift in 2011.

Slezak starred as Viki starting in 1971, and played the character for more than four decades during the soap's lengthy run on the network, which wrapped up in 2012. She won a record six Daytime Emmy Awards for the role.

Davies is the second alum of One Life to Live to die in recent months. Fans of the series are also mourning the passing of Puerto Rican actor Kamar de los Reyes, who died at the age of 56 on Christmas Eve after a brief battle with cancer. Throughout a total of 287 episodes, the actor portrayed Vega, a police officer and brother of David Fumero's Cristian Vega, on the soap from 1995 to 1998 and again from 2000 to 2009.
