'Once Upon a Time' casts Captain Hook -- PHOTO

Once Upon a Time has found its Captain Hook.

Irish actor Colin O'Donoghue has nabbed the much-anticipated role in ABC's hit fantasy series.

The Once Upon version of the classic high seas villain has been described as a confident pirate who never backs down from a fight; a man who seeks to crush and humiliate his enemies. But he also has the meticulous style and manners of a proper gentleman.

O'Donoghue has appeared in Showtime's The Tudors and was in last year's horror film The Rite. The move comes on the heels of Once Upon casting a Pretty Little Liars actor as Sleeping Beauty's prince on the series. Once Upon returns to ABC on Sept. 30 (ABC's premiere dates here).
