16 Years of 'Harry Potter' Covers
Sixteen years ago, on Nov. 16, 2001, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone hit theaters for the first time. An adaptation of J. K. Rowling's late '90s smash hit debut novel, the film introduced viewers to the wand-wielding trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, and marked the first entry in what would soon become one of the most successful film franchises of all time. In the years following, three more books and seven more movies saw release, as well as the production of theme parks, a spin-off series, and a stage play. See 16 years of Entertainment Weekly's Harry Potter covers, ahead.
