'Shaun the Sheep Movie' will leave you speechlessalong with five other non-verbal films

In Shaun the Sheep Movie (in theaters now), there’s a scene when the cotton-ball title character and his friends need to put someone to sleep. They just find a small fence and jump over it, immediately lulling the person into a drowse. It’s one of the dozens of visual puns that color the film, which from the creators of Wallace & Grommit and based on the British TV show.

There are so many sight gags—many of which are contagiously cute—that the movie dispenses with dialogue altogether. There’s not a single audible word in its whole 86 minutes. But it’s not the first of its kind. Here are five other films in the same silent flock as Shaun.
